Telangana Headmasters support merger of TGBIE and School Education department

Hyderabad: Extending support to the proposed merger of the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) with the School Education department, the Telangana Gazetted Headmasters Association (TGHMA) on Thursday said structural changes are currently needed in the school education system and that implementing the intermediate education system is a timely decision considering students’ future.

TGHMA president Raja Bhanu Chandra Prakash and Chief Advisor Dr. Parvathi Satyanarayana, who met School Education Department director Dr. E Naveen Nicolas here, said the proposed system will significantly reduce the pressure students face after Class X, address the lack of coordination between different educational systems, and ease difficulties in planning higher education.

Stating that making intermediate education available within government schools will especially benefit rural, poor, and underprivileged students, they said maintaining continuity in education at the school level could also help reduce dropout rates.

“Headmasters are ready to effectively implement the proposed intermediate in the State,” they added.
